How to measure

1. Measure Key Dimensions (using a ruler or soft measuring tape)

  • Overall Frame Width: Measure the distance from temple to temple. The frame width should be close to this measurement (within ±3 mm).
  • Lens Width: Determines the field of view and proportions. Lenses that are too wide can look bulky; too narrow can make the face look pinched.
  • Bridge Width: Measure the distance across the nose at the point where the nose pads rest. The bridge width should match to keep the glasses stable without slipping.
  • Temple Length: Measure the horizontal distance from your eye to your ear. The temples should rest naturally behind the ears without pressing.

2. Check Wearing Comfort

  • No pressure on the nose bridge or temples, and the frame should stay in place when you gently shake your head side to side.
  • Lenses should not touch your eyelashes and should not be too far from the eyes (generally 12–14 mm eye-to-lens distance).
  • Temples and the curve behind the ears should fit closely without pinching.

3. Evaluate Visual Proportion

  • The top edge of the frame should align roughly with your eyebrows, and the bottom should not extend far below the cheekbones.
  • Frame width should be roughly equal to the widest part of the face (cheekbone to cheekbone).
  • Frame shape should complement your face shape: round faces work well with angular frames, square faces suit rounded frames, and long faces benefit from taller lenses.
